Medal digital

For my digital medal I have decided to use a drawing tablet to create an image which I could transfer onto a plaster and resin base. I decided to use photoshop to create the skull image. I digitally painted it, adjusted the levels and applied filters, and for the other side I merged together layers of different coloured lines and played around with the colours and applied a filter, to make a disordered image to represent the fractured mind. I decided to use a quote from the book which is ‘man is not truly one but truly two’ on the side of the medal.

Mosaic Medal ?

I have had an idea for my traditional made medal to be influenced by mosaic. Mosaics are a whole images made up of many parts, i feel my this represents my theme of parts making up one image very well, i want to attempt a small made mosaic but also larger pieces working together for one image. I have always loved mosaics and so i feel this will give me an outlet to explore this.

Here are some sketches i have done
